PREPARATION AND INSTALLATION OF PRE-INSULATED PIPELINES
Earthworks
SYNCOPEX® pipes are laid in shallow trenches with the possibility of immediate backfilling of the laid sections and without the need to conduct tightness tests. The excellent flexibility of the pipelines allows for bypassing obstacles in the ground without the use of elbows and bends and its free unwinding.
The trench should be carried out in such a way as to ensure the prescribed covering of the pipes. The pipeline should be laid on a 10 cm thick sand bed. To simplify the laying of the pipe directly from the coil, it is recommended to store the excavated soil on one side of the trench.
Pipeline laying
SYNCOPEX pre-insulated pipes can be laid in the trench directly from the coil, up to a length of 100 m. When unwinding, care should be taken to ensure that the casing is not damaged by sharp objects. Thermal changes in the length of the PEX working pipe compress within the system.
Backfilling the excavation
The pipeline laid in the trench should be covered with a 15 cm layer of sand and compacted at the same time. Signal tapes with a metal insert should be placed on the compacted backfill. The remaining part of the trench can be covered mechanically.
When laying a pre-insulated pipeline in a trench, make sure that the carrier pipe is secured with a cap that protects the carrier pipe from contamination.
No fixed points or expansion joints are required. It is not allowed to backfill the final layer of the excavation with soil containing stones etc.
