Pipeline installation

INSTALLATION OF PEX PRE-INSULATED PIPELINE

Exceptional flexibility

The pipes are laid in shallow trenches with the possibility of immediate backfilling of the laid sections and without the need to conduct tightness tests. The great flexibility of the pipelines allows bypassing obstacles in the ground without the use of elbows and bends and its free unwinding.

The trench should be carried out in such a way as to ensure the prescribed covering of the pipes. The pipeline should be laid on a 10 cm thick sand bed. To simplify the laying of the pipe directly from the coil, it is recommended to store the excavated soil on one side of the trench.

Connectors

In the SYNCOPEX system we use screwed clamp connectors, the assembly of which requires only basic assembly tools, such as: an assembly wrench and a saw for cutting e.g. wood.

Leak test of pre-insulated PEX pipelines

The pipelines themselves do not require a tightness test, but due to the pipe connections and elements accompanying water installations, it is recommended to perform a pressure test as follows:

– cover the pipeline in the ground with sand, leaving exposed longitudinal or tee connections if there are any on the pipeline route,
– fill the installation with water and carefully bleed air and check the connections,
– then increase the pressure to 1.5 times the working pressure. Maintain this pressure for 30 minutes, during which time, due to the flexibility of PEX carrier pipes, the pressure in the installation may drop by about 10% – this drop is a natural reaction. – after this period, reduce the pressure in the installation by half – this state should be maintained for about 90 minutes. During this time, observe the connections to find any leaks. After reducing the pressure, as a result of the pipes shrinking, the pressure in the installation should increase slightly, and then (if the installation is tight) stabilize at a slightly higher level.
– if after 90 minutes the pressure does not drop – the installation is tight.
